Broomball Sticks

We don't use actual brooms

Broomball is believed to have gotten its name from street sweepers who played the game on frozen streets.  They would cut down the bristles on the broom in order to deliver a harder shot on the ball.  The game has come a long way since then.

For new players, the CBA offers the use of a standard, wooden broom.  Experienced players will purchase a lightweight, aluminum broom.  These brooms are more maneuverable, which improves ball-handling and accuracy.

A note on Broom Length

Standard length from tip to tip is 47 inches (max is 57"). Tall or defensive players may prefer a longer broom.  Some may purchase a defense-length lacrosse shaft and cut it down to size.
