Important League Update - Divisional Changes & Guidelines

With a growing league, the CBA is encouraging "upward" movement of experienced players to allow room for true beginner teams to compete.  If you're concerned with your team moving up to the next level, please discuss with Kevin Wilhelm, League Coordinator (email the CBA if you need his contact information).

As you coordinate your teams, take into account the guidelines below.  As usual, players may play in more than one level/league, as appropriate, but may only play on one team per league, even as a substitute.  Players may not change teams during a season for any reason (except in rare cases in which there are extenuating circumstances and the CBA President approves the move).

Beginner Co-ed (6 games) - Cost: $500 team / $50 individual
  • Sign up as an individual free agent or as full team.
  • Super-majority of players never played broomball and don't own broomball shoes.
    • Generally speaking, teams that won 2 or more games in "Introductory" last season shall move up to Mixed Co-ed.
    • Exceptions will be allowed if there are enough true-beginner players to remain at this level.
  • There may be cross-over games with the Mixed Co-ed league.
Mixed Co-ed (6 or 8 games, your choice) - Cost: $555* team (6 games) / $740 (8 games)
  • Sign up as full teams only.
  • 50-50 mix of true beginner and experienced players.
    • Generally speaking, teams that won 2 or more games in "Intermediate" last season shall move up to Experienced.
    • Exceptions will be allowed if the team roster has changed significantly to align with 50-50 mix.
  • There may be cross-over games with Beginner Co-ed and with Experienced Co-ed.
  • * Why is it more expensive than beginner?  In Mixed league, we have 2 paid referees instead of 1.
Experienced Co-ed (8 games) - Cost: $740 / team
  • Sign up as full teams only.
  • Targets teams with a complete co-ed roster of experienced players (generally meaning 2 or more seasons played).
Advanced Unrestricted (6 games) - Cost: $555 / team
  • Sign up as full teams only.
  • Open to anyone
    • No constraints on male / female players on the ice
    • Treats men and women equally (i.e., all goals worth 1 point)
  • Replaces the old "Men's league" and is designed for the most experienced players.
