Playing broomball since: Fall 2004

Position: Offense - Right Wing

How did you hear about CBA?
In the fall of 2004, I met Kevin Wilhelm at Dubliner (now Molly Malones) in Pleasant Ridge.  He invited my wife and I to try out broomball and we've been playing ever since.

Memories of Broomball "Firsts"
The first time I played, I wore some ratty old broomball shoes with duct tape on the sole.  I hopped over the bench, and immediately fell on my butt.  Lesson - get better shoes!

My first goal was the result of an errant shot that bounced off the board behind the goal, which I was able to pull back in front of the net, and flip past the goalie.

During my second season, I developed a fairly hard shot.  This lead to another first - knocking out an opponent.  My shot hit a poor guy right underneath his helmet cage, and he fell to the the ice like a tree.  I don't remember his name, but I still feel bad about that!

Favorite memory: Scoring my first and only  "hat-trick" so far.  Not sure if Gene Tavares remembers that day, but I certainly do!
