How did you hear about CBA?
A few former co-workers invited me to watch them play. They knew I was a hockey fan who couldn't skate. After watching just one game, I was sold and buying broomball shoes online to play the following week. Funny thing is that none of those people play anymore because they use the excuse they are married now. Yet, I recruited my fiance to start playing and she loves it! SCORE!
Memories of Broomball "Firsts" :
As I suited up for my first game, I thought I'd be an instant star. I played quite a few other sports and was in decent shape. On my first shift, someone got the ball and himself by me with no problem and I fell hard as I spun around to watch him put the shot on goal. I knew then that this sport is more difficult than it looks.
My first penalty was for high sticking, which was putting it nicely since I hit someone in the helmet as I batted down the ball.
I don't remember my first goal, but I do remember my first advanced team goal. Chris Ruthemeyer gave me a nice pass that went through someone's legs and I hit the one-timer through the five hole.
